F.L. Smithe maintains one of the most modern manufacturing facilities in the world. Our headquarters plant in Duncansville, Pennsylvania, U.S.A. combines the latest computer technology with traditional craftsmanship to produce envelope manufacturing equipment used worldwide.

Design & Engineering

Through years of training and experience, our design engineers have acquired the skills necessary to create machines that are advanced in concept yet practical in operation. We use the latest computer technologies to reduce design time and assist in controlling costs. This modern computer-aided equipment enables our engineers to develop quality Champion machines that strengthen the customer production capabilities.

New machine designs are constantly being developed and tested to keep F.L. Smithe in the forefront of modern technology. By keeping machine flexibility in mind during design, our experienced engineers have created machines that can be tailored to individual needs. Durability and versatility have been characteristics of our machinery since the beginning of the century and have been designed into our modern, high-speed envelope machines.

This progressive F.L. Smithe policy to design versatility and simplicity into durable and affordable machines will keep F.L. Smithe dominant in the envelope industry into the 21st century and beyond.

Employee integrity and teamwork is our way of life.

F.L. Smithe carefully monitors production methods and adapts more efficient strategies, including inspection with sophisticated inspection equipment, to improve quality and produce precision parts economically. Our goal to produce Champion machines that are advanced in design but also affordable can only be met by a dynamic motivated workforce that understands the customers we serve.

Computer-assisted, numerically-controlled machining enables technologically advanced metal turning, laser cutting and gear cutting. New materials are researched and used to meet environmental concerns and enhance customers production needs. By continuously improving our production capabilities with new technologies our machinery has become more durable, easier to operate and can achieve higher speeds.
