New and innovative in the envelope blank die-cutting field, the Automatic Web Die Press AMC machine adds an important new dimension to envelope making as a cost cutting device. Up to eight 42" (1070mm) diameter paper rolls are fed through a reciprocating die-head. Operating up to 150 stokes per minute, two dies punch out 16 perfectly cut blanks with each stroke. Over an 8 hour shift, production in the field exceeds 1,000,000 cut blanks.
Dies are specially constructed, heavy-duty, punch-and-die type. Close tolerances, heavy bearings, and solid die frames insure long life for these dies.
The compete die-set can be removed for size changes. Quick change parts throughout have made changeover surprisingly fast; about three hours is average. This means that the AMC may economically be used for a number of different sizes, as long as the different die sizes used are repeat jobs. #6 3/4 and #10 sizes are among the more common sizes in use. Diagonal and booklet (side seam) styles run equally well on this machine.
Waste removal from the AMC is clean and efficient; in fact, waste can be piped directly to, or adjacent to, a baling machine.
